Mary Ranken Jordan opened the doors to a state-of-the-art pediatric medical facility with the philosophy “Consider the children first in all you do”. Mrs. Jordan wanted the children to heal and get back to their families to live a happy and productive life. She visited often with the children to insure that her commitment to them was seen and felt.
Mrs. Jordan saw to it that Ranken Jordan would continue to "serve the children for many years to come." Ranken Jordan's commitment to the children and their families still stands strong well into the 21st century. "We take care of kids" is a current message that embodies all that is needed to treat, care and heal our young patients.
Back in the 1940’s, polio and other communicable diseases were a major concern; now medical diagnosis ranges from a premature infant on a ventilator to a teenager suffering from brain injury after an accident. The world is a very different place today, but one thing hasn’t changed - the need for accessible, quality health care for seriously ill children. New diagnoses, new treatments and new equipment show how greatly pediatric care has evolved. The facility has grown to become one of the country's premier pediatric specialty hospitals.
"We take care of kids" says it all and Ranken
Jordan continues the tradition of considering the children first by taking great care of our very special kids. With that in mind - my gratitude to everyone who makes Ranken
Jordan a very, very special place.
