Our Team of physicians includes experts in pediatrics, internal medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Nick A. Holekamp, M.D. Chief Medical Officer

Nick Holekamp, M.D.Dr. Nicholas Holekamp has led Ranken Jordan’s medical staff as chief medical officer since 2000, overseeing its dramatic transition from a children’s convalescent home to one of the few pediatric specialty hospitals in the United States.

He is a graduate of Saint Louis University School of Medicine and completed his residency in pediatric/adolescent medicine at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital.

Board certified in pediatrics, Dr. Holekamp is currently on staff at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital and St. John’s Mercy Medical Center.

He is a member of the National Association of Children’s Hospitals & Related Institutions, Missouri State Medical Association and St. Louis Pediatric Society. Dr. Holekamp has earned numerous awards throughout his career; most recently, he was named a 2007 “Health Care Hero” by the St. Louis Business Journal.

 

 Susan C. Conger, M.D. Clinical Medical Director

Sue Conger, M.D.A native of St. Louis, Dr. Susan Conger is Ranken Jordan’s clinical medical director, managing a staff of medical professionals who provide inpatient, outpatient therapy and day treatment therapy services to children facing life-altering illnesses and injuries.

Dr. Conger earned her medical degree at the University of Missouri and completed her residency at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. She was in private practice for 7 years before joining Ranken Jordan in 2003 as assistant medical director.

Dr. Conger is board certified in pediatrics and internal medicine, and for the past 3 years, has been honored as one of the “Best Doctors in America” by Best Doctors, Inc.

 

Rosa M. Suarez-Solar, M.D. Pediatrics

Rosa Suarez Solar, M.D.Dr. Rosa Suarez-Solar has been with Ranken Jordan since 2005, lending her pediatric experience and her fluency in Spanish to caring for children and their families.

She received her medical degree from the Universidad Central del Caribe in Puerto Rico and completed her internship and residency at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Suarez-Solar joined Ranken Jordan after eight years in private practice in St. Louis. She is board certified in pediatrics and is a fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics as well as a member of the Missouri Pediatric Society.

 

Brian Kelly, M.D. Pediatrics

Board certified in pediatrics, Dr. Brian Kelly has extensive experience in pediatrics and neonatology. He comes to Ranken Jordan from ProgressWest Healthcare Center, where he was the medical director of pediatric services. Dr. Kelly also currently is a clinician track instructor of pediatrics at Washington University Medical Center.

A native of South Africa, Dr. Kelly received his medical degree in 1972 from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.

After work at the Illinois School for the Deaf and the Visually Impaired and at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, Dr. Kelly became a pediatric consultant, and from 1997 to 1999 director of ambulatory pediatrics, at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis.

He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Royal College of Physicians.

 

Connie Simmons, M.D. Pediatrics

Connie Simmons, M.D.A Missouri native, Dr. Connie Simmons is a board-certified pediatrician who completed her residency with honors at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. She is a 1991 cum laude graduate of the University of Missouri School of Medicine and joins Ranken Jordan after serving as a staff physician at Cardinal Glennon. 

Dr. Simmons is a former All-American softball player at Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) and has a keen interest in pediatric sports medicine. She was in pediatric private practice in Cape Girardeau for 13 years, also serving as team physician for the SEMO women’s athletics program and as co-medical director of the university’s athletic training education program.

 

Eugene Evra, M.D. Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation

Dr. Eugene Evra is a board certified physiatrist and joins Ranken Jordan after extensive study and practice in pediatric surgery and physical medicine and rehabilitation. Dr. Evra specializes in spasticity management. Previously, Dr. Evra was chief resident in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Program at Washington University School of Medicine.

Dr. Evra earned his medical degree in 1996 from the Smolensk State Medical Academy in Russia. He has given numerous presentations on pediatric rehabilitation issues and is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as the St. Louis Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

 

Amy C. Zimmermann, M.D. Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation

Board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, Dr. Amy Zimmermann joins Ranken Jordan board eligible in pediatric physiatry. 

Dr. Zimmermann earned her medical degree in 2003 from the University of Missouri-Columbia, completed her residency at the University of Alabama and completed her Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine from Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Zimmermann is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Medical Association and American Academy of Cerebral Medicine and Developmental Medicine
