Each month our co-workers nominate an employee who stands out for excellent customer service and commitment to the Ranken Jordan mission. The nominated employee is affectionately known as the "Big Fish." The Big Fish is a part of our customer service program, FISH!

What is your role at Ranken Jordan?
My role in the PHRS (Pediatric Health Related Services) Department provides patients recreational activities that ameliorate social skills, facilitate increases self-esteem, improve motor coordination, enhance cognition and hone sensory awareness. Basically, we in the PHRS Department enhance the quality of life for the kids through play.
What's the best part of your job?
Interactions with the pre-school and toddler age group always make me laugh. There are times when I get so caught up in the pace of my work schedule that I miss the small things in life. The younger kids capture my attention and help me recalibrate what is important. I love the sense of awe and wonder they project. They help me rediscover that being a kid is fun.
What recent accomplishment are you most proud of at Ranken Jordan?
I enjoyed participating in the sidewalk chalk activity
with the kids. It was cool to watch the Ranken Jordan logo guy become a 3D image with all the nuances added to the basic outcome.
What do you like most about working at Ranken Jordan?
The learning experience and the stretching of my abilities. Everyday is a dynamic opportunity to engage and learn from the kids and coworkers. I'm also constantly on the move and interacting with people which doesn't allow me to be bored. I couldn't handle sitting at a desk all day long inundated with paperwork.
