St. Louis Magazine honored Lauri Tanner, President & CEO of Ranken Jordan, as 1 of 3 finalists in the "Leadership" category of the magazine's 2011 Excellence in Nursing Awards. St. Louis Magazine received nearly 200 nominations recognizing vital, but often overlooked, divisions in the medical field. From 16 categories (bottom of the page), nurses and healthcare leaders were selected for making a difference in the local healthcare community.
Lauri came to Ranken Jordan when it was just a small rehab center in a summer home in Ladue, Missouri. Her vision and leadership skills have turned Ranken Jordan into a national model for medically fragile children. Lauri has been the driving force in Ranken Jordan's growth from a humble, under-capacity, 12-bed nursing home to a 60,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art specialty hospital featuring 34 beds. Ranken Jordan now helps more than 300 children and their families each year.
The 2011 Excellence in Nursing Awards event was April 20 at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis. Stlmag.com has photos from the evening.
