Missouri hospitals treat more than 12,000 people every year for traumatic brain injuries (TBI). Ranken Jordan—A Pediatric Specialty Hospital is one of the hospitals that features a brain injury therapy program designed to help patients in two of the highest-risk age categories: infant-four years and ages 15-24. Ranken Jordan’s experienced team of physicians, nurses and therapists tailor specific treatments to children suffering from TBI.
Ranken Jordan also addresses the complex social and psychological issues that surround traumatic brain injuries. The hospital provides complete childcare training for parents as the family prepares to return home.
About the Conference
The Brain Injury Association of Missouri (BIA-MO) sixth annual statewide conference is an educational opportunity for healthcare professionals, as well as brain-injury survivors and their families. The conference features locally and nationally recognized speakers sharing cutting-edge technologies, innovative therapies, program strategies and current trends in research. This is the only conference in Missouri established to specifically address issues about brain injury.
Sessions held Oct. 20 through Oct. 22 feature topics of interest to all health care professionals who work in the field of brain-related injuries. Experts will offer a special sports-concussion program on Oct. 22 and a brain-injury survivor seminar on Oct. 23. Ranken Jordan's physiatrist, Dr. Amy Zimmermann, is presenting Thursday and music therapist, Mary Hitchcock-Reinhart will present on Saturday. You can view and download the notes from the presentation or ask the speakers a question here »
The BIA-MO annual awards luncheon and meeting also will be held Oct. 23.
