The Sixth Annual Golf Tournament at Norwood Hills Country Club raised more than $40,000 on July 12, a rather pleasant and overcast day that offered a bit of relief and a nice breeze to golfers expecting more sweltering conditions. Thirty nine golf foursomes turned out to support Ranken Jordan.
This year 13-year-old Sam Ward, an excellent young golfer and former Ranken Jordan therapy day-treatment patient, played 18 holes in a foursome that also featured Ranken Jordan President & CEO, Lauri Tanner. Sam’s family came all the way from Tennessee to support their son and the hospital.
After hip surgery, Sam spent nearly six weeks of intense therapy at Ranken Jordan. That effort helped him gain greater independence as he began walking again. His hard work paid off at the golf tournament as he displayed good stamina and a beautiful swing throughout the day.
