Ranken Jordan – A Pediatric Specialty Hospital recently welcomed three new members to its medical staff. The addition of Dr. Eugene Evra allows Ranken Jordan to provide its patients with physiatry services, and Dr. Brian Kelly and Dr. Connie Simmons have joined the growing pediatrics team.
Physiatry focuses on physical medicine and rehabilitation. As a physiatrist, Evra will help children affected by physical disabilities achieve functional restoration.
“The addition of Dr. Evra to our staff is significant, because it allows us to offer physiatry services and treat an even larger population of seriously ill and injured children,” said Dr. Nick Holekamp, chief medical officer at Ranken Jordan. “Dr. Kelly and Dr. Simmons also bring vast experience and expertise to our team and will help us continue providing unparalleled care for our patients.”
Evra specializes in spasticity management and has extensive study and practice in pediatric surgery, orthopedics and psychiatry. He previously served as chief resident in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residence Program at Washington University School of Medicine. Evra earned his medical degree from the Smolensk State Medical Academy in Russia, and is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and St. Louis Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is board eligible in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
Kelly has extensive experience in pediatrics and neonatology, and is board certified in pediatrics, both in the United States and United Kingdom. Prior to joining Ranken Jordan, Kelly served as an assistant professor of pediatrics at Washington University School of Medicine and as the medical director of pediatric services for St. Louis Children’s Hospital at ProgressWest Healthcare Center. A native of South Africa, Kelly earned his medical degree from the University of Cape Town – South Africa. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Royal College of Physicians.
Simmons is a board-certified pediatrician who joins Ranken Jordan after serving as a staff physician at Cardinal Glennon and as a private pediatrician in Cape Girardeau for 13 years. She earned her medical degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine, graduating cum laude in 1991. A former All-American softball player at Southeast Missouri State University, Simmons also served as team physician for the SEMO woman’s athletics program and as co-medical director of the university’s athletic training education program
