Spiritual Care

Reverend Hal Morse, Spiritual Care Director is available during regular business hours at (314) 872-6531, or 24-hours a day by pager at 314-903-0023.

Ranken Jordan provides Spiritual Care services for patients and their families of all faiths. To request a visit with our chaplain please ask your nurse or call (314) 872-6531.  When  a child is sick or hurt, the entire family copes with the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual challenges. Our Spiritual Care program intends to meet the needs of mind, body, and spirit in a balanced way, honoring  all sacred relationships whether internal; person-to-person; or person-to-God.

Our chaplain also provides:

  • Provision of sacraments;

  • Contributing to crisis intervention efforts;

  • Death and bereavement counseling;

  • Performing funerals and memorials for patients and staff;

  • Performing life cycle ceremonies (e.g., baby naming, weddings) for patients and their loved ones;

  • Communicating and interfacing with the clergy in the communities we serve in order to enhance the health and spiritual well-being of the people of the community.

Our interfaith Mediation Room is available for prayer and meditation 24-hours a day. It is tucked away on the first floor of the hospital next to Social Services behind the Vandegrift Bridge.
